Philemon 1:20 – Dogmatic Alterations in the New Testament

Often times readers of the Bible encounter difficult passages and are consoled that the actual Greek will rectify and allay any concerns that might arise from that. However, when comparing the Westcott-Hort, Textus Receptus and Byzantine manuscripts we find some inconsistencies that appear to be fueled by an attempt to make the text adhere to certain Christian doctrines. In the “Bowels” of Jesus Christ?

“For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.”
